Hi,
I am using jdk 1.8.0 and jre 1.8.0.

The Navigator is displayed as deprecated

Yes, you can use Package Explorer also. As part of Package Explorer, every folder is being shown as package only or basically the package that we write on top of classes comes there.
In some versions of jdk 1.8, Navigation option is still there and in latest releases of jdk also, Navigation option is still there.
So that's not of a big concern.
